Finding the Mass of the Higgs Boson

How do you find the mass of the Higgs Boson when it decays into other particles before we detect it?

If you were going to build a bicycle, and wanted to know its mass, you could add up the masses of the parts: the two wheels, the frame, the handle bars, the seat, etc.

...but if you want to find the mass of the Higgs Boson from the particles it decays to, you cannot just add up the masses of those particles. Why not? See next page.
